CareerNerd Industries started as a childhood obsession with
computers and networks.  The impact of a universal method of sharing
information, the so-called Information Superhighway, was clear to us
very early on. 

As soon as AOL released their first plugin to allow users to visit
the world wide web, we were filling our FTP space with HTML created
with Notepad, animated GIFs waving hello, and text scrolling across the
screen

Eventually it became clear that manually editing and creating an HTML file for every piece of information out there was never going to suffice.  The database-driven web application was born.
